I'm coming back to an idea I had a few years ago: an outfit-generating tool for each of the different Style Identities. Here's the tool I've created for Dramatic Classic: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_kwW4hb44MHmgRMMxdF5hXDbEH8l80sggc6d_8V72Vs/edit?usp=sharing Hopefully you can access that ^.
When you refresh the page, new ideas for tops, bottoms, and dresses are randomly generated. There are thousands upon thousands of unique outfit ideas. I'd love for all of you to play around with it. I think such a tool might help "word people" visualize what to shop for and what to put on in the morning. What do you think? If there's interest, I'll create these for all of the types, and sell them at a reasonable price. :-) Not sure what type you are? Try the Style ID Calculator, or consider a virtual analysis.

This is really cool! I would love to have something like this. If you also included an accessory category, this would be perfect. I'm Natural-Ethereal (with a little dashes o' Gamine/Ingenue) and accessories are really important for injecting flowiness/whimsy/playfulness to my often plain Natural base. Wouldn't shoes would be similarly important for Classics, since they wear fewer accessories?

I would absolutely use something like that. It's brilliant.

Love it! I already created one for generating uniforms for myself, but this takes it to the next level.

Have not yet tried this, but the idea is brilliant! And I agree about the accessory addition. I am not sure where you will place me (my style analysis is scheduled for later this month), but it is always less expensive to start with accessories. Some of us work in jobs that are rather style-restricting, so accessories are a way to express that style identity in a small way. I am sure an accessory generator may be really time consuming to create, but I know I struggle with striking a successful balance. Over time it has gotten easier to find my best colors, but combining those with clothes that complement my body and personal style? I need all the help I can get! I realize this generator just makes suggestions, but such a creative approach! Next we will have the closet organizer Elle had in “Clueless.”

Love this idea! Played around with your example of DC a bit. It works on my chrome browser, Google OS phone no problem. Took a few tries to refresh as it was caching.

A tangential question:

I just got my Soft Summer cards a bit ago. I sorted the colors into Ethereal, Natural, and Ingenue. Because I'm going for a very small wardrobe, I went with only one essence's influence in colors. I decided against Ethereal because I look pretty spacy if I'm not paying attention. I want my clothes to project how I am when I'm engaged, so I picked the Ingenue colors.

Oooh, I like that! What a clever way to do that. And ENI in SSu just sounds lovely. I would imagine the muted coloring would suggest some E even without having to reach for it as much.

I would find this very helpful just like all of the other tools you have created. -:)

The link to the generator is obviously not functioning.

I have a challenge for you. My sister-in-law is an etherial gamine. At least that's my best guess since I'm new to your system. However, she doesn't like "fussy". No jewelry, no makeup. And she wants people to take her seriously because even though she's almost 30, she looks like she's 12. She keeps asking me for advice, but I'm a Romantic Natural who loves jewelry and makeup, so this is way outside my wheelhouse.

If she does have Gamine, I think relying heavily on that style would be helpful and comfortable for her. Gamines look good with little to no jewelry or makeup, and since Ethereals are low-contrast, they usually don't look obviously made-up either (unless they go for lots of shimmer, but that doesn't sound like something your SIL would be interested in). Gamine would also help her to look older and more competent if she plays it right. Gamines actually look more mature and womanly the more boyish they dress; Gamine styles are also tailored (in a jaunty way, not in Classic's traditional, conservative way), so if she concentrates on items like snazzy blazers, breton tops, and tailored cropped pants, I think that would make her look not only mature and competent, but honest and comfortable in herself. A pixie cut might look grown-up, efficient, and confident on her.

Excellent advice, KC! Relying heavily on the Gamine style would work well unless your SIL has more of the Ethereal than Gamine essence. (We don't know if that's the case).

I've been thinking about it and yes, I would love a version of this for Romantic Ethereal :) That's not the easiest style to apply to casual wear and I would appreciate having this to reference for ideas.

Yes, yes, yes. This is a fantastic idea! Yes please! I would particularly love it if you included the "closet" it is pulling from (or perhaps that just references the shopping guide?)

I have been using and enjoying the Dramatic Classic version - mistakenly it turns out - I was right about the Classic part, but need more Yin I guess = Romantic is my most important. (and funny I never liked asymmetrical or too sharp Dramatic looks, I just have high cheek bones so was *told* Dramatic). I would Love a Romantic Ethereal generator and then I can add in (or start with) simple Classic pieces that I already own as the smallest part. Getting the Shape right in Romantic is the challenge especially for real-world clothing and Ethereal - a place to individualize my plain wardrobe (finally : )
